DOG TRAINING SERVICES

Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting works with and highly recommends Janet Vera Professional Dog Training for dog training services. Our goal is to provide the highest quality, force-free, scientific based pet training and pet care for each animal under our care. We are dedicated to maintaining and fostering the physical, social, and mental well-being of all of our furry friends. We are both members of the Pet Professional Guild.

Depending on your dog's specific needs, Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting can offer Walk and Train Sessions or may refer you to Janet Vera Professional Dog Training for private in-home training solutions if you are not interested in dog walking services.

During our Socialization Sessions, Angela will work with your shy dog to slowly introduce them to staff members. There will always be two people walking your dog on these visits. While the process may not be easy; with patience, love, and consistency, your pup can make new human friends! Angela is the only dog walker offering this service so space is extremely limited. Your dog walker is also a dog trainer. We must walk your dog at least once every week in order for this program to be effective. Over time, we may be able to transition your dog to a regular dog walking session with another dog walker.

During our Walk and Train sessions, we work individually with your dog at home or out on a walk using positive reinforcement and force free methods. We update you after each visit with what strategies worked, what didn't work, and some suggestions to follow up with.

Janet Vera Professional Dog Training offers private in-home training solutions based on the physical, mental and emotional needs of the animal. If you also require dog walking services, Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting can follow through with Janet's recommendations during our Walk and Train sessions.

We always do observations of the owner and puppy/dog to see what your needs and goals of the training are. This session runs for about an hour. We provide you with some helpful tools and strategies that you can start to use in between your follow up sessions. If we feel that your dog's needs are outside our area of expertise, we will refer you to Janet Vera for a consultation and/or private in-home sessions.

Janet takes pride in offering training and behavior services to specifically suit the unique needs of each family and dog(s) she's working with. Her immediate goal is to be part of improving your relationship with your canine family member. She offers private, in-home training solutions for undesirable dog behavior issues including reactivity and aggression, in addition to obedience training. Her approach is the whole health method of assessing each dog in their primary environment while offering solutions based on the physical, mental and emotional needs of the animal. Her services are recommended by veterinarians, rescue groups, dog trainers, dog walkers and other pet professionals.

Over the past 15 years, Angela has worked with many dog trainers, read many great books, and done tons of research on the different training methods available to help her dog, Oki, who is very reactive to other dogs. There are so many trainers to choose from and many trainers who have different training philosophies. She is currently working with Janet and she is amazed with how much progress Oki has made. Janet has taught Angela many new skills and training techniques for working with fearful dogs which has totally opened a whole new opportunity for her. Even though she holds a dog training certificate, she is still getting as much hands on experience working with her own dogs and her dog walking clients before she promotes herself as a "certified professional dog trainer" and earn the letters behind her name. She has recently become Fear Free certified and  has a special place in her heart for animals with special needs. Her experience in special education has given her the patience for working with dogs who need extra love and support.
