Wags of Wisdom
Phoebe has been training dogs for five years, since 2021.
After getting her start training dogs at a corporate chain, she developed the opinion that dog trainers should be held to a certain standard of competence and ethics, and got her CPDT-KA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Shortly after, she opened Wags of Wisdom, LLC.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cataloguing native and invasive plants, and spending quality time with her cat.
Her approach focuses on helping dogs live their best lives by ensuring training is humane, effective, and tailored to each individual dog's needs. She is dedicated to creating meaningful change in the lives of dogs, ensuring that every dog receives the compassionate care and effective training they deserve.

Angela combines her deep-rooted passion for animals with a strong foundation in behavior analysis, education, fear-free practices, and dog training. She received her dog training certificate in 2012 and has been working with dogs and their families ever since.
Her love for nature and the joy of watching growth unfold in all forms of life has shaped the heart of Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting, where dog walking is about more than exercise. It is about helping each dog feel safe, understood, and supported as an individual.
Through her work with dogs and her oversight of our training-focused services, Angela helps create thoughtful walking experiences that support confidence, trust, and emotional well-being.
She works closely with the team to develop and oversee training plans, making sure each dog’s needs, comfort level, and goals are clearly understood and consistently followed. Whether a dog is learning to feel more comfortable with handling, building confidence around new people, or preparing to expand their circle of trusted dog walkers, Angela helps guide the process with compassion, patience, and a force-free approach.
Angela also coordinates with pet parents to ensure everyone is working together in a way that feels supportive and realistic for the dog and the family.
Her goal is to help each pet live their best life by creating services that honor who they are, celebrate their progress, and help them move through the world with more confidence and joy.

Laura

and Pet Sitting
Laura grew up loving animals and has lived with dogs since the third grade. She has experience working as a grooming assistant, at a dog boarding facility, walking dogs and pet sitting, and volunteering for animal rescues.
She earned her dog training certificate in 2023 and helps Angela with Walk and Train services.
Laura’s approach focuses on helping dogs feel safe, supported, and understood so they can live fuller, more comfortable lives. Through our dog walking services, especially our Walk and Train services, she helps dogs build confidence with handling, leash skills, new people, and everyday experiences that may feel overwhelming. Her goal is to help each dog have the best walking experience possible by using humane, force free, and individualized training methods that honor the dog’s needs and comfort level.
Laura is especially passionate about helping dogs who are nervous around strangers or unsure about being handled. By moving at each dog’s pace, building trust, and creating positive associations, she helps dogs expand their world, feel more comfortable with new dog walkers, and gain the confidence they need to enjoy safe, enriching walks with our team.

In each dog training program, we provide:
Consultation & Skill Transfer Sessions
REQUIRED PRIOR TO BOOKING
Before booking any of our dog training sessions, we require a consultation to assess your pup's needs and develop a personalized training plan that sets you both up for success. This initial session helps us understand your goals, your dog's behavior, and the best approach to training.
After the consultation, we require at least two Skill Transfer Sessions within the first four weeks. These sessions are essential for ensuring you feel confident implementing the training plan, addressing any challenges that arise, and making necessary adjustments to support your dog's progress.

DEDICATED SUPPORT NETWORK: The Team remains committed to supporting you and your dog, offering advice and assistance grounded in fear-free practices, with the shared goal of becoming PPAB (Pet Professional Accreditation Board) Professionals as a testament to our expertise and dedication to humane, effective training methods.
INITIAL ASSESSMENT: The certified dog trainer conducts an initial assessment to understand the dog's specific needs, behaviors, and current skill level.
SKILL BUILDING: The trainer focuses on teaching foundational skills using positive reinforcement, force-free, and fear-free methods. This includes basic cues like sit, stay, come, touch; pattern games like Up/Down, Ping-Pong, and 1-2-3 to build confidence; and addressing specific behaviors like leash reactivity, pulling, scavenging, or shyness.
OWNER INVOLVEMENT: The trainer works closely with you, providing them with tools and knowledge to reinforce these skills at home, emphasizing fear-free techniques, ensuring consistency in training.
Walk and Train Sessions
SKILL TRANSFER: Phoebe (CPDT-KA) is a certified dog trainer. Angela and Laura, both hold dog training diplomas, Fear Free certifications, and are aspiring CTT-A credential holders. One of the trainers will join one of the training sessions with Phoebe to understand the specific approaches and cues used for your pup.
CONTINUED TRAINING: They continue the fear-free training regimen, keeping your pup under threshold, reinforcing foundational skills and building upon them with patience and positive reinforcement, and adding in desensitization and counter conditioning opportunities for X amount of sessions.
PROGRESS MONITORING: Regular updates and detailed notes are shared with you highlighting the fear-free approaches, ensuring transparency and collaborative progress.
INTERMEDIATE SKILL REINFORCEMENT: As your pup masters foundational skills, our Fear Free certified and aspiring CTT-A credential holders, shadow Angela or Laura so they can take over to reinforce these skills, focusing on consistency and reliability in different environments for X amount of sessions.
CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS: Any new challenges encountered with the transition are documented and addressed with positive, fear-free methods, ensuring the dog's well-being and progress.
OWNER ENGAGEMENT: Regular feedback sessions with you to discuss progress, challenges, and adjustments needed in training strategies.
Walk and Maintain Sessions
MAINTENANCE MODE: Once your pup has shown consistent progress and is responding well to basic cues and behavioral cues, the Fear Free certified dog walkers shadow and take over to maintain and reinforce the training, ensuring the dog continues to feel secure and understood.
CONSISTENT REINFORCEMENT: The dog walkers are trained to reinforce the training consistently, ensuring that your pup does not regress in their behavior or skills.
ONGOING SUPPORT: The team remains available for any questions, concerns, or further training needs, ensuring the dog's continued success and well-being.
MAINTENANCE MODE: Once your pup has shown consistent progress and is responding well to basic cues and behavioral cues, the dog walkers will shadow one of our Fear Free team members and take over to maintain and reinforce the training, ensuring the dog continues to feel secure and understood.
CONSISTENT REINFORCEMENT: The dog walkers are trained to reinforce the training consistently, ensuring that your pup does not regress in their behavior or skills.
